PDG Otto Kamrud

Lion Otto Kamrud joined the Park Rapids Lions Club in
1970 he was a valuable member for 13 years. In 1983 he became the charter
President of the new Osage Lion Club.
The youth were very important to Lion Otto through
Lions and work. Lion Otto was an educator and school administrator. Lion
Otto over saw the Peace Poster contest as well as the Drug Awareness Poster
contest for his club. Lion Otto and his wife Marie hosted many different
foreign exchange students. Lion Otto helped develop a swimming beach, a
ball park, and a play ground. If it involved KIDS, Lion Otto was always in
favor.
Lion Otto was very active on the district level. He
attended numerous Lions Conventions at the District, Multiple, and
International levels. Lion Otto served as the 5M-9 Diabetes Chair for many
years. In 199 Lion Otto because a District Governor. “PDG OTTO” is what his
license plate read. Lion Otto was a Melvin Jones Fellow and Helen Keller
recipient.
Lion Otto passed away at the USA/Canada Forum in Reno,
Nevada on September 13, 2004 on his 68th birthday.
Lion Otto was elected in to the 5M Lions Hall of Fame
in 2005 and received this honor posthumous.
